Transplant Support Services for Cigna Healthcare Customers
This information applies only to Cigna HealthCare customers
Note - You are a Cigna Healthcare customer if you have a Cigna logo on your medical ID card and there is no “S” on either lower front corner of the card.
Payer Solutions clients with Cigna medical network access do have the Cigna Tree of Life logo on the front of their ID card. The thing that differentiates TPA business from direct business is that TPA business also has an “S” on the front of the ID card, preferably but not always on the lower left corner. This is the description of the “S” identifier from our ID Card Guidelines and also the sample ID card we share with TPAs:
“S” Identifier
Cigna providers look for the “S” identifier to identify and manage their accounts receivable payments that will be sent from a Payer other than Cigna, otherwise known as a “Shared Administration” Payer. Please note that the "S" must appear on the front of all ID Cards, preferably in the lower left corner.
A Personal Support System
We understand that visiting a quality facility isn't always enough - you also need a strong support system to help you through a difficult time. We can evaluate your individual needs to help ensure you're as comfortable as possible by providing you with personalized support, including:
Transplant Case Manager
A transplant case manager will be your single point of contact to help you manage your benefits and access the services you need. Customers preparing for, or going through a transplant, are assigned a case manager to be their advocate within the system. Cigna LifeSOURCE transplant case managers handle all aspects of case management. They help those facing transplant to navigate the health care coverage aspects of transplantation, as well as help them get the most from their health care benefits.
Travel Benefits
With Cigna LifeSOURCE travel benefits, you can choose the facility that's right for you, even if it's out-of-state, and your plan will cover travel expenses such as gas, car rental, air travel, and hotels for you and one companion. If you are eligible for the travel program, your transplant case manager will provide you with detailed information about the program. Under this benefit, you will complete an expense form and send your original receipts to the Cigna LifeSOURCE travel claims team. There are three options for sending your travel claims. More detailed information is included at the bottom of the expense form. Please note, a transplant recipient or donor may use this form. A check will be sent to you for reimbursement of the eligible expenses. For your convenience, the travel expense form is available below.
